Landon’s Letter

Hey so not much has changed since my last email on Wednesday.

Our week was a very fast one, it's kinda like a long weekend for us. Weird huh ;)

This week we were surprised when a man walked into church and came up to us and said he had talked to some missionaries on Mormon.org and that he came to the closest meeting house that he could. His name is Dave Ketch. He has met with missionaries before and was very close to being baptized so we are hoping we can help him to get to that point that he is this time. He loved church!

Sandra was not able to be confirmed this Sunday because she was late. Which she is always late to things between 30-45 minutes. But she is an awesome artist. If I can send a picture of a picture that she drew of me I will. It is very good.

Well I love you all sorry this is a short letter.

Rachel- I hope that they don't win in basketball this year. How is Koda? When are you taking the ACT or have you done that recently? Hope you have a great week!

Natalie & Jon- Oh man they killed Fitzgerald? Darn. was it a life kit or a lift kit? How is it in Rock Springs. Is there anyone there I would now at the college?

Annie- Oh man I can't believe what is going on! Are you going to be traveling around the mission to different sisters for 2 weeks? Or what is it you are doing?

Megan & Justin- I hear that Beaudee is  pretty spoiled already. Are you still working Megan? Are you going to go back or just stay home and take care of him?

Mom- Wow I can't believe the Bishopric. It's an old bishopric this time not younger like the last. How long has President Isom been stake president?

Dad- I'm glad you had the missionaries over this week. How was your drive to Cheyenne? Hope that you travel safely especially in this time of the year!

I love you all,

Love your favorite son, brother, and elder

Elder Landon Webb

Annie’s Letter

Hello wonderful family! Wow! This week has just been all sorts of craziness! So here's how it's gone!

Monday: we had some fantastic lessons with our investigators, it was SO good to see them all one more time! Hopefully on November 2 there will be a baptism of one of them we get to attend!

Tuesday: Packed up and headed to transfers! We got my stuff loaded in the car and then Sister Arnell started unpacking it and taking it back into the apartment. Transfers was crazy, sitting in the stand and not getting a new companion or area...crazy! I was crying while we were singing the mission song so some of the sisters came up and stood with me (cuz I was the only sister on the stand) it was very sweet of them. :-) After that we headed to the Temple. Which was awesome! Brother Scheck from Mt. Vernon knew I was going to be there so he went to that session too :-) It was fun to see him one more time. He is the funniest man from that ward. Kindof like a grandpa to all the missionaries. Then on to the mission home. I didn't have my interview with President because I have 2 more weeks still. We were all sitting there talking and I was just thinking "haha, you elders have to go home tomorrow!" Then I headed out to Delaware!
Wednesday I worked with Sister Webb and Sister McCarty for the first half of the day and Sister Bettridge and Sister Burke for the second half. They are fantastic! Wednesday night Sister Ellington came and picked me up from Delaware to take me to Marysville.

Thursday: In Marysville with Sister Shelley and Sister Chapman. They are so sweet. We found a sweet new investigator who came on a chapel tour later that night! I also got to see Barb and Reva two of my recent converts. I didn't go to visit them, don't worry. Barb fed us dinner and then we were out with the ward council and the YW President had planned to see Reva. So that was fun. She was so surprised to see me!

Friday morning I left for Clearfork with Sister Waldron (my great granddaughter) and Sister Hibbert (my great great granddaughter). It was fun. Sister Hibbert was the youngest sister ever! haha. She was so excited to go shopping today because she has never been shopping for herself. I hope she enjoyed herself.

Saturday we went tracting in the morning...it was SO cold! Remember how I sent all my winter stuff home... haha. I'm okay, I still have long sleeves and my jacket and some gloves and things, so I'm good but MAN! I can't believe it's that time of year! It was so good though because Sister Hibbert picked the street that we went tracting on and they have 3 return appointments this week! I'm so glad. It really made her feel like she was contributing. :-) Then I headed to Mansfield with Sister Hayford (my great granddaughter) and Sister Openshaw (my great great granddaughter). They had a baptism that night so I got to see that. One of the women who got baptized was excommunicated 20 years ago and it was amazing to hear some of her story. The Atonement is real for everyone! Always! It was so special. Mansfield ward also got a new senior couple that day, the Olsons. They are from Manilla! They know Jim Brandshaw and his boys really well. He also said he met you dad, over the summer. He was asking you if Webb was a Bridger Valley name. I don't know if you remember him. But it is George and Sharen Olson. They are wonderful. I'm so glad I was in Mansfield that day! INSPIRED!

Sunday I got dropped off in Mt. Vernon at the Rines because that is where the Sisters were eating dinner. I was going down to Powell with Sister Arnell and SIster Renouard to a mission leadership council meeting. And I even got to eat dinner! Eating is the hardest thing about traveling! Because everyone plans smart so they eat when I get picked up because that is when they are at their apartment. I'm very happy with their planning skills. And don't worry, I do eat. But  this was GOOOOD food! We had an incredible meeting with Elder Lynn G. Robbins of the First Quorum of the Seventy. It was on agency and responsibility and control. It was completely amazing! I wish I could adequately tell you about it over an email... but I can't. The thing that stood out to me most though was the principle of "being" and "doing." If we be with out do we are dead (James 1:17) but if we do without be we are hypocrites. So in our planners we have  a "to do" list. But we don't have a "to be" list. But to be is affected directly by what we do. So how effectively am I using my "to do" list. The things I put on there should not just be the menail tasks that I have to remember to perform...but also things that I need to do to become what I want to be. What Heavenly Father wants me to be. It was really good. Then I got dropped off in Westerville.

Monday: So today isn't really pday. I do get time to email, because I basically won't get a pday! I have to leave here in about an hour to go to Worthington so if we had pday then it would have been a waste of me being here. And one of the sisters here, Sister Glaab, really really wants to learn and be better. But President and Sister Nilsen insisted that I email. And the rest of pday was up to me. We had this conversation a couple of days ago. I knew what I was getting into. :-)

It's been a lot of fun floating and getting to work with all the Sisters. I have really enjoyed it. I really am a gypsey though...I carry around all my worldly posessions. Haha. That's not entirely true. My two big suitcases are at the mission home. But I have a cot that I lug around (I wanted an airmattress but they said this would be more comfortable. True...but it's a pain to haul around! And a little suitcase. It's fun. :-) I have met some incredible members. I am so grateful for the members willingness to cart me all around the mission! Coming up I have Worthington, OSU, Gahanna, Pickerington, Lancaster, Scioto, Westland, Hayden Run, Xenia, Beavercreek, and Piqua. That will be my last stop. The Piqua ward shares a building with the Sidney ward so I called ElDee and she will actually be picking me up there on Friday morning and taking me to the mission home! I will have an exit interview and then my new companion will be...MOM! So it's a little crazy. But it's my life. :-) It is so much fun! I've learned a lot from the sisters I have worked with, and hoped they have learned something from me as well.

Landon, do you know the Elders in Kitchner, Ontario? The woman who took me to Clearfork was baptized in France by Elder Jameson who lives in Kitchener Ontario. Her name is Susan . His companion was Elder Nelson. She was baptized on May 26, 1979. Do you have contact with them? Could you ask them about him? And get an address or email address please? She would like to write him and tell him thank you. She is the relief society president in the Clearfork right now.

Dad, when I was in Clearfork and Mansfield everyone was telling me about Elder and SIster Sim who served there in the 80s. They had a big ranch in Evanston. They have both passed away, but wondering if you know who they are. Also...do you remember Boyd, his dad did something with the water heater and Megan had a HUGE crush on him when she was little? Did his dad SELL water heaters? Because if so... the Olson's know them too. I wasn't sure if that's who it was...I only remember Megan was so infatuated with Boyd haha.
Anyway... I hope you all have a fantastic week! I love you! Can't wait for your emails next week! :-)

Annie
