Annie’s Letter
Last email... this is weird. Hello wonderful family of mine! I can't believe this is the last time I will email you on my mission. This makes 82 emails. I think. I can't believe how the time has gone. At times I looked forward and thought the end would never come. And then I was on the countdown and I extended... proving me right! THe end would never come! And I was okay with that! But now I'm down to 4 days. and I'm not quite sure how I feel. I have loved being a missionary. The good times and the hard ones. My new favorite scripture is Alma 26:15-16.
15 Yea, they were encircled about with everlasting darkness and destruction; but behold, he has brought them into his everlasting light, yea, into everlasting salvation; and they are encircled about with the matchless bounty of his love; yea, and we have been instruments in his hands of doing this great and marvelous work.
16 Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.
This is how I feel. I have loved being an insturment in the hands of the Lord in doing this great and marvelous work. What a work it is! I am so excited to see how the work continues to hasten, and to be a part of it! I'm pretty jealous of all the missionaries that get to stay here! But I have seen some amazing things on my mission. And I'm grateful for all that I have been able to see here: The baptisms of Kris, Zoey, Marcia, Braelynn, Josh, Kyle, Reva, Barb, Charlie, Miles, Joni, Ty, Ben, Bethany. So many people and lives touched and changed by the gospel. My own testimony grow. The mission split. 13 sisters in the mission to 71! So many other things... I'll just have to tell you all about them when I see you all! I'm very excited!
So cool story...last week when I was going from marysville to Clearfork a woman picked me up from the clearfork ward to drive me. She joined the church years ago in France. She was baptized by an Elder Jameson. Who lives in...ONTARIO CANADA! Where in Ontario? Hamilton! Landon knows him! So we were able to get his address and phone number so she can get in contact with him. She just wants to tell him thankyou for teaching her. She now has generations of members and missionaries in her family. How cool is that!? Small world!
This week has been crazy of course! monday after I emailed I went to Worthington, then to OSU, then to Gahanna, then to Pickerington, then to Lancaster then to Piqua! Where I am at right now. With SISTER MEREDITH! She was in the apartment with me in Mt.Vernon when there were 4 of us. So that has been SO FUN!
So my plans changed, i was supposed to end in Piqua, but Sister Nilsen and I were discussing the needs of some of the sisters and decided that it would be better for me to go up here earlier. So I called ElDee and told her. Before I even got your message, dad :-) So no worries. I got that all worked out. I have just a few areas left. Today I go to Xenia, then to Hayden Run, Westland, and the Scioto. And then to Columbus on Friday afternoon. I'll meet you at the mission home!
I love you all and am so excited to see all of you! Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Sister Webb.
Landon’s Letter
Hey familia,
This week has been pretty crazy with fun filled events. first off and the best was the one Annie talked about. When I called Malcolm Jameson and told him he was so surprised and he was very excited to hear that. I think anyone likes to hear that the people they helped teach the gospel to is doing well.
Also this week we had a Halloween Party so that was really fun! We found a family this week to teach and we invited them out to the party. They had a fun time and we are going to help them make a transition into the Stoney Creek ward because that is where they are moving. That ward could really use a good family like this! So I hope that it will help them in that ward!
Sandra also got confirmed this week so we were grateful that she was able to make it to church on time. She is doing great and the Ward loves her. We were told by the Relief Society President that she is amazing! So we were really excited for that.
I have thought a lot lately about the conditions in which we live. Not just the calamities of the world but also with our battles against the adversary. We have so much thrown at us that can have devastating consequences. But we know that a way has been provided to prevent this. We are to build upon the rock or our Redeemer our foundations and keep them maintained. We build and continue to strengthen our foundations by living the gospel. We must build our faith through studying the scriptures (especially the Book of Mormon which grows our testimony of the restored gospel), earnestly praying, attending church, attending the temple, give service, fulfill our callings, and share the gospel. We Repent or things we feel and see we can improve in our lives and constantly strive to become better. We make covenants through sacred ordinances by the restored priesthood authority and renew those covenants by partaking of the sacrament weekly. We are promised the gift of the Holy Ghost who will guide us in things to help us build our faith, things we can repent of, and bear witness of the truthfulness of the restored gospel and the blessings that it gives to us. Then as we endure to the end which is everything mentioned above we can be cleansed through the Atonement of Jesus Christ so we can return with our Father in Heaven. How blessed are we! I said to my self this past week I am so grateful to be a member of the church.
I am grateful for all of the things each of you do!
Rachel- where are you going to be staying next week? At home, a friends, or at Megans & Justins? How is work going? When do you take the ACT?
Natalie- Hope that you don't get too scared from Rock Springs I think it is scarier in the downtown section of Rock Springs then anywhere else there.
Annie- Holy crow you are old, in the mission field, I know that you are really helping out those sister missionaries and they will be very grateful for that.
Megan & Justin- I hope that Beaudee isn't kicking too hard. He is going to be a soccer player ;) or maybe he is practicing dribbling a basketball ;)
Mom- Wow I can't believe you get to be Sister Webbs companion. That is so awesome! Oh I don't know yet for Christmas so let me think about it.
Dad- That's awesome that general authorities stopped by. I hope that I get to see some more. I have only seen 2 here Which is pretty good so I hope that I see at least an Apostle hopefully!
I love you all.
Love your favorite Brother, Elder, and Son
Elder Landon Webb
