Landon’s Letter
Hey mi familia,
Sorry this was a short week so I don't have much more to add as I did last week. We have been busy or trying to stay busy.
Our day mostly consists of waking up at 6:30,
Personal Study at 8
Companionship Study at 9
Proselyting by 10
Proselyte from 10-12 or 1ish stopping by former investigators, potential investigators, and whoever else we can talk with during that time.
Lunch around 12 or 1ish
Proselyte from 1 or 2ish-5 doing the same thing
Dinner around 5
Proselyte from 6-9 doing the same things. We hope and try to set up appointments which usually do come. We get between 1 to 2 a day depending on the day. We also try to meet with members often and make plans with them in missionary work.
Plan 9-9:30
Prepare for bed and bed 9:30-10:30
It's awesome.
That's our day but we have other things through out the week like district meetings, weekly planning, and other things that come up.
Rachel- You are a busy girl. Don't forget to have some fun with friends. So be more social than just at school.
Natalie & Jon- That is awesome that things are going good for you guys. That's awesome! I am glad that you like your new ward! Good to hear from you Jon.
Annie- Keep smiling and working hard. Did you get transferred or are you staying in your area for your last one?
Megan & Justin- Thanks for the note! I appreciate it. Man is all you guys do is camp? Lucky! Thanks for all you do!
Mom- Wow that is awesome about Shane. I hope that I get a letter from him soon. I wish I could have gone to see the Bar-J-Wranglers. That would have been awesome!
Dad- How was Yellowstone? I walked into a members home and say a picture. The first thing I said was that it looked like Yellowstone. It was. Today I found 2 old records that had Peter, Paul, and Mary that were 2 bucks each. I though it was pretty cool.
I love you all thanks for all that you do. I love you
Love your favorite brother, son, and elder
Elder Landon Webb
Annie’s Letter
Aloha! I am emailing so late today because we just got back from our MISSION WIDE LUAU! It was super fun! We had delicious pork cooked Tonga-style by the King of Tonga himself...ELDER NIU! And we had lots of fun games. My zone dominated the Sisters Tug of War. Haha. So as it seems most of you know by now...
I AM STILL IN MT VERNON! I'LL STAY HERE UNTIL THE END OF MY MISSION! So let me tell you a little about transfers. We got transfer calls on Wednesday. We found out Sister Nalls would be leaving Mt. Vernon and training. Sister Arnell also got transferred. Sister Meredith would be staying here (well, in Fredricktown, but it the ward) training. And I would be staying as well, but not training. I figured they were putting Sister Training Leaders in companionships FINALLY! So we get to transfers. All the new missionaries and their trainers were sitting in the middle of the chapel. All the missionaries who were leaving their area sat on the left side and all the missionaries staying in their area were one the right side. I'd never been there before, it was kind of cool! So they're going through announcing the transfer. "In Mt. Vernon 2... Sister Webb...will be receiving a new companion..." So I stand up, wondering who my new companion would be.... "SISTER ARNELL!"
WHAT THE?!
So Sister Arnell yells "Ya!" and we are both sprinting up the isles of the chapel. No reverence. :-/ I was thinking "I'm in the chapel...I shouldn't be running..." But I couldn't stop because I was SO EXCITED! It was the greatest thing ever! SO we are back in Mt. Vernon, tearing it up! We have had an awesome week! We got a kid on date, Ben, I wasn't sure if he would ever get there! His favorite phrase is "I don't know" but yesterday we had an awesome lesson with him, talked a lot about baptism. He wasn't super committed, but in a good place. Then we left. Sister Arnell wasn't feeling super well so she laid down on the lawn at the church while I read our mandatory, wonderful 5 pages in the Book of Mormon. A few minutes later Ben and his member friend, Matt, came out to scare us in their phantom of the opera masks. Then they left. A few minutes later they came back again and announced....BEN WANTED TO GET BAPTIZED! So they walked over to talk to his parents and it was all set. His parents haven't been involved at all, but they are supportive. They want to go to his baptism! So they picked a date that worked for them. October 1. We want to move it up because that is SO far away, but that's great for now! We were very happy! Yesterday was just a miracle day! We walked all day so on the way home we sang a song. It goes to the 12 days of Christmas
.
On the 8th day of September the blessings came our way:
6 baptismal invites
5 people at church
4 aching feet
3 breakfasts made
2 new investigators
and 1 solid person on date!
It was such a great day!
We are working with some great people right now:
Ben: 15, loves video games, super exicted to get baptized!
Cheryl and Danny: sweet couple, Cheryl is looking for a church in Mt. Vernon. They are just great.
Amanda: granddaughter of a member who passed away in May (I played the piano for his funeral). She is doing great with quitting smoking, but still needs prayers! She has a crazy work schedule and is working on changing it around so she can have weekends off.
Nate: We just found him last night, referral from a member. He owns a sporting store in Delaware. He quit going to church because he didn't feel it was right and he is looking for a new one :-)
These are our most progressing investigators. so if you could keep all these amazing people in your prayers that would be great!
Natalie and Jon, blessings come when we do what the Lord is asking us to! What a miracle for you two! I'm so happy for you!
Question: When did Taiya join the church? Where is she going? Where is Tiffany going? What missionaries have they sent out? That is so awesome! The work is definitely progressing! I love being a part of it!
Well, I hope you all are having a fantastic week! You guys are super awesome and I love you all a lot!! Peace out!
Annie
