Landon’s Letter

So sorry I have 13 minutes to write a letter but let me tell you it was great to talk to Dad, Megan, and Annie. I wish I could have talked to Mom, Rachel, and Natalie to!

So Elder Badillo is from Colombia and has been out a year on his mission. He is a wonderful hard worker, very humble, and is just a joy to work with. He is pretty much awesome!

This week has not been to much exciting because all our investigators were gone. Ya all this week were gone.

Rachel good luck with Jazz band and Swing Choir in the morning. Now you know how I felt all those years in High School.

Natalie how is college going, classes, and anything else? How is Jon doing?

Annie keep up the stellar work! You are a great missionary.

Megan good luck with everything and I know that the Lord will bless you! He already has and will continue to do so!

Justin hope things are going good.

Hello Dearest Family of mine!

First of all, I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH! Just so you know.

Second, I have a question I have been meaning to ask for almost 6 months! Rachel, you're probably the best one to answer this question. Did we ever get my hoop skirt back from Shelby Russell? If we haven't...could we please? I kinda like that thing and I really don't want her to keep it forever. It's mine :-) I love it. I want it.

Third... THE COLUMBUS CREW GAME WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

It was so much fun to be at the game! I was glad I went to a soccer game last year so I kindof had an idea of what was going in (Thank you Nathan Hampton!) anyway, it was great we got to see the soccer game, and have a lot of fun and see the missionaries that we haven't seen in SO long... it was just fantastic! And the Crew won! 1-0 in a last minute goal. It was great! So, it was mormon night, but it was more Spanish Heritage night. The only thing they actually did for "mormon night" was show the missionaries for like 10 seconds about half an hour before the game started. Lame. I wonder how president nilsen feels about that... he put A LOT on the line for this game... and we didn't even get to go on the field. It was sad. But still so much fun! THe pictures are me at the crew field, and then one of me and other sisters, we are all posterity of sister cash. Sister Twitchell is my trainee, sister dycus is sister finefeuiaki's trainee, sister finefeuiaki is sister wheeden's trainee, sister wheeden is sister cash's trainee, and I am sister finefeuiaki's trainee. That is a lot of people to have in one mission! And that's not even all of us! I think almost half of the sisters are posterity of sister cash. She is something of a legend. I never met her :-( then there is me and one of my favorite elders, elder birch (from Idaho) he's just a riot and then me and one of my elder's from the MTC elder mcmichael. He was freezing! Cuz he's from GA. It was cold, but not THAT cold. haha.

So I don't really have all that much to tell you guys because I e-mailed you on Wednesday and not too much has happened since then. We had another appointment with Dustin on Thursday but he wasn't there when we got there. We are hoping that he just got confused and thought our appointment was next Thursday. If not... well, we don't know where he lives and he doesn't have a phone. So either he is going to be there on Thursday and he will be getting baptized soon OR someday some other missionaries will find him and he will be ready. We had a sick day on Saturday :-( Both of my lovely companions were sick so I got to study all day while they slept. I watched The Testaments, The Lamb of God, and Special Witnesses of Christ. Plus I read a lot in the gospels. It was amazing! I felt so close to my Savior as I walked with him and learned about him. Then at Church on Sunday during Sunday School we were talking about Christ's ministry in the America's. We watched Reflections of Christ: Another Testament. If you haven't seen those pictures... go look at them. They are just amazing. I was bawling. Much to the amusement of several members of the ward. This week should be a good week. We have set some great goals and I am excited to work hard and see how they go. And next Monday we are having a district PDay. We are going to carve pumpkins and have pumpkin chocolate chip cookies (this won't suprise you...but I love to bake and so I do. It's been a rule of mine to give 1/2 of what I make away for years and so the elders really enjoy that haha) and then the next Monday we should be going to the zoo! I am SO EXCITED! plus, we are going with members who have passes so we shouldn't have to pay anything at all! But I will probably be using some money today at kroger because it's the end of the moth and that means MSF funds are low! I do good, I am really good at finding the cheapest stuff but it still costs money! And I'll probably have to get some sweaters because it's not cold yet, but it is pretty dang chilly! It will be a cold winter! I thought I left stuff kind of out, sorry I should have done better. I don't know if I left my beanies and scarves out... apparently not my sweaters... sorry. :-( Thanks for looking. You guys are great. I think that's really all I have today...sorry this email is kind of lame. :-( I love you all! have a great day! 9/17/12 Landon’s Letter

I am still here in North Bay so I will be getting the cd's. My new companion will be Elder Badillo who is from South America. I will be meeting him tomorrow and then we will come back and do some work! We picked up a new investigator who will be baptized the 29th of September! It is great! Othe then that not much more. I will be sending home pictures this week hopefully. Sorry there is just so much going on right now that I can't really stop and think to hard just because 100 things are flying past my mind right now.

Rachel good luck on the auditions and keep up that hard work. That is cool that you think you did really well on the tests. That is awesome. Keep up the hard work! Also I hope you are having fun at the dentists office. I know that things will go great for you.

Natalie good luck with school! Hey who have you met at college?

Annie keep up all the hard work. I will admit we have a problem to with singing apostate songs. It is definalely hard to keep them from popping up in my mind.

Megan and Justin good luck with work this week! When is your surgery Justin or have you had it?

Mom thanks for all you do and I can't wait for your letter! How has school been going and how is the garden?

9/19/12 Annie’s Letter

It is game time! TONIGHT I WILL BE AT A PRO SOCCER GAME! WAAAHOO!! THE COLUMBUS CREW, MORMON NIGHT! I AM SOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!! ITS GOING TO BE GREAT! I WOULD RATHER GO TO A FOOTBALL GAME, BUT HEY, I'M ON A MISSION AND GET TO GO TO A GAME! I WILL TAKE SOCCER! BESIDES, SOCCER GAMES ARE REALLY FUN. I went to a real game last year and had a blast! Plus, all 200 missionaries will be there and will be on the field at half time. It's gonna be totally wicked! But it is also game time in Marysville, OH! WE have had some very spiritual, powerful lessons this week. The work is going forth! Heavenly Father is our coach and our teammate! He is helping us with His children. Some are just SO prepared!

Mark and Olivia: We had a great lesson with Mark and Olivia about faith and sacrifice and obedience using the wonderful example of Abraham and Isaac. The spirit was SO strong! Sister Twitchell invited them to think about a baptismal date...which also means a wedding date... unfortunately, Olivia's mom is SO not okay with them getting married right now...but she is just fine with them living together. Man, it is so sad how warped this world has become! :-( On the bright side, we had another lesson with Mark and Olivia yesterday and we taught the Plan of Salvation. It was another great lesson. Olivia asked if Drew Ellington, a member of the ward, would be able to baptize her! Of course we said he would probably be honored and that she should definitely ask him! The catch is, he goes back to school at BYU-I in January and so it would need to be before that... which we think is great! Hopefully everything will work out. Remember, hope is not flimsy! IT IS AN ABIDING TRUST! Their reading has also improved in the last week and they are doing so well with their word of wisdom challenges and their family is supporting them AND they came to church on Sunday even though they weren't going to (thank goodness for the spirit!) AND they brought Mark's cousin Anthony and will hopefully be bringing him again this Sunday! So on Sunday, I texted Olivia in the morning and she said they weren't going to be able to come because they were both sick again. I asked if she would even be able to come for the first hour, because I was speaking and I wanted them to hear my talk! And I promised that, prompted by the spirit, that if they came to church they would feel better this week. So they came. And loved it. And they feel better this week. And they are going to come to the ward activities this week. And the next couple of weeks. THEY ARE PROGRESSING!!!

Valeta: We found Valeta last week and I honestly didn't think she would progress, I thought she would be more of a "i really like the company" investigator, and she does like the company but we saw her yesterday and we were just chatting and Sister Twitchell and I were both thinking "I wonder if we're even going to get the lesson in here?" But then all of the sudden we were talking about the restoration. It flowed so marvelously! The spirit was SO strong. It was such an amazing lesson! Sister Twitchell said "you said you feel like something is missing. This could be it!" She is so bold and just wonderful. She is a fabulous missionary. Anyway, I think Valeta will progress. And the ward will love her and she will be an amazing member! She already gave the restoration pamphlet to her daughter. Her granddaughter is in a Catechism class and they are learning about different religions so she was really excited to have her own book! Cute! Valeta told us she felt "overjoyed" after we talked about the first vision and man, the spirit was SOOO strong. It was just incredible!

Dustin: We were going finding on day on Emmaus and Sister Twitchell had a prompting that we should go talk to this lady she had seen sitting on her porch. So we did, and she wasn't interested but she was very nice and we left a family proclamation with her. While we were walking away Sister Twitchell asked me why she had had that prompting and if it had really been a prompting or what happened because she thought she felt it so strongly but then she wasn't interested. I was telling her that sometimes we get promptings for reasons we don't understand. Maybe we just needed to talk to her that day to help her be happy or something or maybe it had to do with something else completely. At that moment I saw a man fishing at a park. And I knew we needed to talk to him. So we went over and started a conversation about fishing...and impaling ducks... and worked it beautifully into a Gospel discussion. We got a return appointment for 2 days later. At the same park. So we went back on Monday and he was there! I'm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous but I knew he needed the message and I was so hoping (abiding trust) that he would be there. AND HE WAS! So we had a great lesson with him as well! There was a point in the lesson that we ran away and left him behind, thankfully we realized it and went back and picked him up. We never would have seen Dustin if we wouldn't have gone and talked to that lady. Heavenly Father knows what he is doing. He has a wonderful plan and all we need to do is live our lives in a way that we can recognize the promptings and have the courage to act on them. THAT'S IT! He wants this work to progress. We just need to have the faith and guts to make it happen.

It really has been a wonderful week!. I just can't tell you about all the times I have felt the spirit and things have just been so wonderful this week. Our planning has been better, our faith has been stronger, we have been more united, and the work is going forth!

I look forward to seeing you at the game! Or, since you'll probably be reading this after the game, I definitely enjoyed seeing you at the game! It really is game time! And I DO NOT intend to sit on the side lines. This is the big league. I intend to play every quarter, every minute, every play. I want to be exhausted to the point of oblivion by the time the game is done. That is the only way to truly be satisfied and happy about the game. To know beyond any shadow of a doubt that you gave every thing you could. We actually taught a lesson on the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a little boy this week who is preparing to get baptized. His mom is recently reactivated and Charlie is excited to get baptized. We knew his attention span is a little short and so we came up with an awesome analogy. Football.

Faith: having a desire to play the game, knowing you can win and playing TO win.

Repentance: Fumble recovery. We all fumble once in a while, it's part of life. But as long as we jump on the ball and keep possession we are going to be okay.

Baptism: The first touchdown. But you can't win a game with only one touchdown, especially when you're playing against the Devil and his angels. So you have to continue to make touchdowns, each week by partaking of the sacrament.

Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost: Your teammates. You can't win the game without them. They are they to help and protect you.

Endure to the End: You've gotta play until the end. Every minute, every quarter.

And of course Christ is the coach, always there to help us become better. He's played the game. He's been there. He knows the things we need to do do be the best we can be.

Dad, you're the best daddy ever and I love you! I will be very excited for the day when I can just call you again. I really do miss that a lot. People ask what I miss most and that is what I tell them.

Mom, I did get your letter! Thank you soo much it was great to hear from you! I would LOVE to have one of Rachel's stuffed animals if she can spare one... haha. And I'm sorry, I should have kept those winter clothes out somewhere! But it is getting really chilly here and I am definitely going to be wanting them. Thanks for being willing to dig. I do have one pair of boots here that we bought before I left. The two pairs that I have there still... one is grey and one is black. They are both tallish (about the same height) and really should be in the same box. How is it to not be in relief society anymore? I bet that is a change. I couldn't believe you have been in for that long! I am so excited for you and dad to go to New England! That will be such an awesome trip! I am glad you are finally getting to take it. Next, Alaska. Then... PORTUGAL! haha. Megan, it sounds like you are already an awesome YW president! Which, really doesn't surprise me at all. Justin, I hope work is going well and you recovered from your surgery well. I hope you got lots of ice cream. Or pepsi. Landon, you are TEARING IT UP! Congrats bud! The work there sounds like it is just going awesome! You are such a great missionary! I am very proud of you! I talk about you all the time. By the way, someday you will be training Elder Kaden Twitchell. He doesn't have his call yet, but he is my greenie's little brother. And we decided that he will be going to Toronto and you will train him. It just makes sense. Natalie, I am glad you are spending so much time in the institute! It is a wonderful place! You're right about the spirit. Cling to it! Learn from it! it will bless your life so much! Rachel, It sounds like you're crazy busy! That's good! Keep up the great work chica! You will do great with jazz band auditions and challenges. Play that trumpet for me! I miss it SOOOOOOO much! Well, I don't have much time so I'm gonna have to go but I love you all so much and you're the best! Also, I will be buying stuff today with personal money...like sweats and stuff because Sister Nilsen put us on a 3 a week cardio rule WHICH I LOVE! but it's cold at 6:30 and I have to get some Omega-3. I hate spending money. MSF or personal. I hate shopping. Did you ever think you would hear me utter those words? Well, I say it every week. Ask my companions. I. HATE. SHOPPING. But some things must be done.

One picture is me and Sister Twitchell, (we are still in a trio but the picture of the 3 of us is really blurry. I didn't take it.) and the other pictures are me and the skaggs/the skaggs children. I love that family so much! They are the greatest! Well, besides my own. Also, I got to talk to Katie Buskin this week! And I'll get to see her in October! I'm so excited!

Thanks for being the bestest family in the entire world! I am so lucky to have ya'll! I just don't know what I would do without you! I am so thankful I never have to know! And that is exactly why I am here. To help other people never have to know what they would do without their families! Read the talk by President Eyring called "our perfect example" NO EMPTY CHAIRS! Annie’s Letter

Hello dearest family! I hope you are all having a wonderful week! Things have been going great in the Great Ohio! (With a name like that, how else could they be going?!) I hope you all got the opportunity to watch the CES devotional last night by Elder Holland. If you didn't go find it online. HOLY COW! That man is just so incredible. It was one of the best talks I have EVER heard. He talks about fighting Babylon and establishing Zion. In ourselves, with those around us, and in our communities. It is a fight! It was really just an incredible talk. Please look it up. Everything is going really well here. I LOVE being in training again. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow more and improve myself as a missionary. And Sister Twitchell is completely awesome. I'm a little confused at how she ended up being born to her parents in Vegas and I ended up with you all in Wyoming (not that I'm complaining!) I think one set of parents must have had us both and the other set kidnapped one of the babies. Because she is my long lost twin. I'm convinced. haha. We have a lot of fun together. And she makes it significantly easier to deal with other...challenges. She is such a wonderful blessing. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve her and serve with her. Now, some responses to some of your e-mails. Rachel-congrats on the new job! That's so awesome! Man, our family should all have perfect teeth. With 3 dental assistants, and all the braces and retainers we have had... we have no excuse to ever have anything wrong with our teeth! haha. I'm sure you will love your job. It sounds like you are having a great time. I'll have to keep an eye out for Elder and Sister Hughes. It's always fun to talk to people who know people! I bet they're awesome. My clothes (sweaters and boots) are in a green Tupperware box in the shed...sorry. (I think they're all in green ones...) it is starting to get chilly here (like 65 degrees!) and I totally going to need warm clothes! I didn't think about anything except my coat before I left otherwise I would have had it more organized. Sorry. And dad, the frog is also in a tote in the shed. Rachel I can't believe how busy you sound! You are going to have such a great year in school! Megan, congrats on the new calling! You are going to be the coolest YW president ever! I'm a little jealous of Rachel, not gonna lie. But I had Janet and Dawn and they super awesome so it's all good. I hope you don't get too stressed with all you have going on! Justin, good luck on the surgery. Any surgery, no matter how minor, is no fun at all. Natalie, congrats on your job girlie! And just keep plugging away at school. Make sure you get involved. Being engaged is no excuse to be anti social. Make friends and have fun. Jon, I hope school is going well for you too! Senior year is a blast! I hope cross country is going well! Mom and Dad, thank you so much for all you do for me. You guys are the best. I seriously have the greatest parents ever (even if they kidnapped me. haha) Landon, keep working hard. I know you are. I love getting to read your e-mails. You're such a great missionary bud! I'm glad the renters are in the house, what a relief that must be! Good luck pulling out the garden and everything you guys have this week. I was sad to hear about Vonda. But I know she has been suffering for a long time so it is a good thing. I hope Mellie is doing okay. They were married for a loooooong time. Well, here is some of what is going on here:

Sister Twitchell and I have a problem. We are both horribly addicted to apostate songs! They pop into our heads ALL THE TIME! There is an apostate song for everything! So we have a goal for this week. NO MORE APOSTATE SONGS! I know that as we focus our thoughts more on songs that uplift us and help us think about our Savior we will be blessed so much. Not that we think of bad songs, but they are songs of the world and we are SO NOT of the world! (Well, we're trying really hard not to be). Every time a song pops into one of our heads we say "NO!" and we both start to sing a hymn or primary song together to get the other song out of our heads :-) IT's been working great so far. This week has been a really good week. We found 3 new investigators! Valeta, who I hope will progress but I think she just really misses her daughters and wants us to come over. We will gauge the situation and make a righteous judgement. Hopefully she will be willing to learn more about our Savior Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. The other two are Jared and his mother. Jared is in the scouting program in the Marysville ward and has some good friends who are members. After an activity one night he started asking some questions. The scout master told Sister Ellington who told us. We went over and talked to Jared's mom (who attends a non-denominational church). She was SUPER excited that Jared was showing interest in ANY religion at all because he has NEVER showed any interest in hers. (he is 10). So we went back over with Sister Ellington (who is great. If there were awesome member awards...she should totally get one. In fact, do you think we could just get a name tag for her? She is basically a full-time missionary! She helps us out with so much all the time). Anyway, Jared is 10 so his attention span isn't too long but he did listen and ask good questions and we think he actually got quite a bit out of the first lesson. We will go back and finish up the restoration tonight (the restoration DVD is totally inspired!) and then next time we teach him it will be the plan of salvation...using Lego's. I'm super excited for that lesson. It's going to be awesome. Mark and Olivia kept postponing lessons because they were sick. So on Friday night we decided we just needed to go see them. So we took a "get better bag" complete with chicken noodle soup, saltine crackers, and ginger ale to our sick investigators. They loved it. And they told us...THEY HAVE DECIDED TO GET MARRIED! The unfortunate thing is it won't be for a while. We are working on that though. I told them I would totally plan their wedding (because that's great service and it's also using my talents) and the bishop has already offered to perform their marriage... FOR FREE (of course) and they could use the church (also for free!) and there is a Sister in the ward who makes wedding cakes who would totally do theirs! Their wedding is already planned! All they need to do is show up and say "I do." ...and get a marriage license. Too bad forgery is a bad idea. JUST KIDDING! haha. So Sister Twitchell has been sick this week. She is a trooper! She just keeps going and going but we did make sure she got some good rest. One day we left her with a member of the ward so she could sleep and get better and Sister Richardson and I went to the appointments that we had for that day. She is just such a trooper. Thankfully she is much better now. She is just a stellar missionary and is doing so much! She is so teachable and she is such an amazing teacher! It has just been great to work with her. I love her so much!

Sorry this e-mail is so scattered. It's been a crazy morning already. Oh, I haven't had sourdoughs yet, but we have barely seen the Skaggs at all this week :-( We have been really busy and they have been really busy...life is just crazy! But I'm sure I"ll get them sometime. Again, sorry it's so discombobulated... but I love you all and I hope you all have a stellar week! Thanks so much for your prayers and for all that you do. Remember the gospel is true. It is perfect. It is a wonderful life long process that we have the privilege to know about and to take part it. Improving and perfecting our selves is something we can always do better at. Always. Remember to watch Elder Holland's talk (really watch it, don't just read it, he speaks with such power!) and remember to NEVER CHECK YOUR RELIGION AT THE DOOR!" I love you all! Yumm ;p is right that face is a gross face. We ate cow stomach this week ;p sooo gross. But it was definately an experience that we will not have nor want to have ever again but I won't forget it. Also we had a syrp chug. Ya that's pretty Canadian huh and stupid we both threw up afterwards. haha but it was fun. Yes I got your letter last week. sorry I was in shock and completely forgot. Don't send my anything this week tranfers are next week. I hope I get the cd's I will let you now in a week if not 2 weeks. Thank you for burning them and sending them off.

So my time as a trainee is almost done. Actually jk I will never stop learning. I am going through the Book of Mormon and I am reading some pretty cool stuff. I just finished 1 Nephi and there is so much cool stuff in there. I am learning a lot. The work is going great. We went and talked to 2 investigators who we tracted into about a month ago and haven't really talked to them since. We went and invited her and her daughter to come to church and they did! Also there was another baptism of Meagan Fretz and James was confirmed this week. It was awesome. I will have to send in my card soon.

Rachel congrats on getting the job and making it into swing chior that is so cool. Keep up all the great work and learn as much as possible from Megan she will be a great Young Womens President.

Natalie first off I know I sounded a little harsh last week but I was just completely shocked. Congrats! I am really excited for you. Ok Story Time! :D you'll have to tell me and Annie! How is school going? How are your classes and teachers? Have you made many new friends? Jon congrats and good luck with school bud. How are sports going?

Annie keep up all the awesome work. You would so go frog kissing why am I not suprised. Good luck with your training that is awesome you get to train someone who is in the shoes you were not too long ago! You will help them thats for sure.

Megan congrats on the new calling. I swear you just keep getting more and more callings. That is really awesome I know that you will be blessed so much for all you do. Guess what you can do missionary work now too! How exciting is that! Well you were earlier but now you will have even greater chances to do missionary work!

Justin I hope work is work haha.

Mom thanks for all you do. How is school going. I am glad you have an air conditioner in your room. You can take ours we don't need it anymore it was 11 degrees this morning I think thats aboout 45 or 48 or something like that. Either way it is cooling off. Are there any projects you will be doing this week or soon. Where is New England? like the patriots?

Dad thank you for burning the cd's. How is the computer world going at Mountain View? Thanks for all the sports updates. I hop that everything is going great for you. I have seen so many airplanes lately that I have been constently reminded of when we went to the air show. Do you remember that time we got soaked and watched airplanes? That was fun we should do it again sometime!

Annie’s Letter

Hello family! Yes, you read that subject line correctly. I have a daughter. Her name is Sister Twitchell and she is from Las Vegas. In other words... I'M TRAINING! How scary is that?! I feel like it's a bad case of babies having babies! I'm sooo not old enough to be training! I haven't even been on my mission 5 months yet and I've barely been in the field for 4 months! But apparently the Lord, and President Nilsen, have decided that I can be trusted with this scared calling. I am very humbled and grateful for the opportunity that I have to be serving Sister Twitchell as her trainer. But we don't call it training. When I was in training we called in Aoaoga, well for Sister Twitchell's training we call it....

SUPERHERO ACADEMY!!

Yeah, we're pretty cool! It has been great to get to start going through the training program again. I am learning a lot! I'm pretty sure the actual reason I was called to train was because I needed to go through it again! But it's going really well. Sister Twitchell is full of "green rage" she is just on fire! She loves the gospel and has such a fantastic testimony. I love her so much already! The minute I walked into the room where the new missionaries were waiting for their trainers... I didn't see her. Haha. She is the only new sister that came in this transfer. I was so disappointed when I walked into the room and didn't see her. But then she walked in and I was just so full of love for this Sister! I am so grateful to her for being willing to serve our Heavenly Father. I have already learned a lot from her! She is just the best greenie I could ever hope for! Sister Richardson is also still with us. I love being back in a trio.

Dad, Sister Skaggs DID get the sourdough recipe! She told me about it the other day when we were at their house and I was SOOOO excited! That is the food I have missed the most and it's the one that no one can make! So I'm stoked she asked for it! She took us to transfers and then out to lunch at Culver's and I had a sourdough sandwich and I mentioned how sourdough pancakes were like the best thing ever! And then I guess she asked for the recipe! Yum! Also...

"if you've never been frog kissin' then you don't know what you've been missin'..." I can now sing that song with authority! I have officially kissed a frog! It took a couple of attempts but I did it! We saw it and I mentioned that someday I was going to be brave enough to catch a frog so I could kiss it but it wasn't going to be that day. So Sister Twitchell caught it and eventually I kissed it! Poor thing was terrified though. It peed. And every time my mouth got close to it his heart rate increased. He thought I was going to eat him! But now I can cross that item off of my bucket list. It has been on my bucket list since I saw a huge-o frog outside my apartment in Orlando in 2010! (that was the day I started my first blog theprincessandherfrogs.blogspot.com) Oh, in case you were wondering, he didn't turn into a prince. I think it might have something to do with the fact that I'm on a mission. Maybe.

So about the work...

On Wednesday last week we had an appointment with Mark and Olivia, which went really well! We taught the restoration to Mark (review for Olivia) and Olivia was helping to teach and testify and BDAW... she's totally a little missionary! She has such a great testimony growing and Mark is really seeing how the gospel can bless his life! They want it sooo much! We extended a soft invite to Mark to be baptized, which he accepted! It was great! Then we were talking about things they will need to do before they can be baptized, such as have the rest of the lessons and stop smoking (which they are doing pretty well with). Well, then I mentioned the law of chastity. We had had the law of chastity lesson the week before and it went really well, but must not have quite sunk in. So we told them that they couldn't be baptized if they were still living together and talked about options (marriage or move out). I honestly felt like I had hit them both in the face with a bag of bricks. I was almost crying- mark gave me tissues because he could hear it in my voice. It was hard. But this week they have been thinking and discussing and praying about what they should do about this and we have an appointment with them tonight that I am excited/anxious for. They both want the gospel. They are realizing the blessings it brings and they want to be baptized! I hope this doesn't become a major stumbling block for them. That night was the first time I left a lesson and started to cry. But that night we were praying and I was thinking about them and the scripture John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you.l Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Wow. I am still worried about them but I know that God is aware of the situation and He loves them and everything is going to work out.

Megan and Justin, yay for getting the topsoil done! Sorry I couldn't be there to help! I would have loved to! But I'm kindof in Ohio...

Rachel, I'm glad school is going well. Sorry basic foods is a bust. Just wait until you get to start cooking and then it will get better! I hope!

Mom, I hope school is going well for you! Winter clothes: You can send them anytime. My coat, and some sweaters would be good (I'll most likely be in Marysville until at least November since I'm training!) Also, my grey and black boots. But could you spary them with water proofer first? Thanks soooo much!

Dad, I hope school is going well for you too! And thanks so much for burning the CD's! If you haven't sent them yet, don't send me the one with the musicals and stuff. We don't listen to that here in the OCM! Haha. However... if you could possibly find my green frog (I'm not sure where it is... probably in the shed) I really miss having a stuffed animal to sleep with. I need him. I don't want figment because I don't want anything to happen to him. So if you could please send me my froggie I would really appreciate it.

Side note...I will be buying an electric blanket because I freeze at nights! And it is just going to be getting cooler and cooler...plus, like normal people, my companions like the air conditioner. I'm becoming more and more like you dad. Just leave it at one temperature and then if you're cold put on a jacket! All this up and down stuff is driving me crazy! It'll be an icebox and then an oven. But mostly an ice box.

And I feel like I forgot something... oh yeah...

CONGRATULATIONS NATALIE AND JON!

I am very excited for you two! Although still a little miffed that you're getting married before I get home. Oh well, at least I will be able to go to your sealing the next year. But I can't help plan your wedding! :-( Your loss. Please send me letters! I want to see the ring, I want to know how Jon proposed... YOU HAVE TO TELL ME THESE THINGS!! So I expect a letter THIS WEEK! Also, I hope school is going well for both of you. Love you both!

So I have 9 minutes to write. the work is going good.

We have been truely blessed. Our investigators are doing good. James got baptized and Megan is getting baptized this week. then in 2 weeks Rob and Jordan should be getting baptized and hopefully Kevin. We will keep working to help them reach what can be eternal happiness.

I saw Elder Hyatt this week and talked to him, I can't wait for the CD's!, we saw a black bear run across the road not even 30 feet infront of us out in the middle of no where and that was pretty cool. We also saw a racoon walk infront of our window this morning and we went outside to go see it. It was a younger racoon and it was up in a tree by the time we got outside. It was pretty darn cool.

I am so grateful for all of my family in my life. I have seen how much a family can impact your life. Especially this week. We were studing the the 5th discussion (temples, marriage, priesthood, church assignments) go figure huh. But I am so grateful for all of my family. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father put me down in our wonderful family. You are the greatest blessings in my life. Thank you.

Annie’s Letter

Wow. Neil Armstrong is gone. I can't believe it. I was in the BMV this morning (for a notary for my absentee ballot) and on the TV (I wasn't watching, but I do have working ears!) It said that the guy that voiced count on sesame street was dead which made me really sad. Then it said something about Neil Armstrong and I thought it said died but wasn't sure...so I looked...and it was just talking about a display they are doing so I was like okay, he's not dead. It's okay." Well then I turned around and saw this white board they had in the office and it had his timeless quote (see the subject line) followed by 1930-2012 and I couldn't believe it! I wanted to cry. I told sister richardson "he can't die. Neil armstrong is just one of those people who aren't supposed to die!" Then I came here and read Rachel's e-mail and that is exactly what dad said and I thought that was kinda funny. That we said the same thing. Not that Neil Armstrong died. That's not funny at all. Well I don't have too much time today so let me quickly tell you what's been going on here.

Tuesday we had Zone conference. Zone conference is a wonderful opportunity to really be uplifted by the spirit, by the speakers and by just being with the other missionaries. People who understand exactly what we are going through! It's so nice to feel of their spirits and testimonies for a little while to really help me get pumped up and go hit the work hard! After zone conference I got to go to...

SPRINGFIELD!!!!!!!!! That's right, I got to go "home!" It was awesome! I even got to see Marcia, Josh, and Braelynn three of my investigators who are now recent converts. I also go to see a lot of the ladies of the ward because our dinner Tuesday night was a relief society activity! And I got to teach some of their new investigators Tim and Randi who are just awesome! They taught the law of chastity a couple lessons ago and Tim said "you know what that means Randi, you have to move out!" He was just kidding but they did announce their engagement when we were there! It was so cute when we got to Braelynn's. She had just woken up so she gave sister finefeuiaki a hug and then went to give sister dycus a hug but then saw it was me and her eyes just went huge and she basically launched herself at me! It was awesome! I've missed her! But things have been going really well here in Marysville. We are working hard to continue the work in this area. This week we had planned to teach Olivia the law of chastity. At our last lesson she informed us that her boyfriend, Mark, would be moving in with her. Needless to say I have been terrified to teach this lesson this week. All week I studied the Law of chastity from Preach my Gospel as well as from the scriptures. There is so much good stuff! Well, the day of the lesson dawned and Sister Richardson jokingly quipped "what do you bet Mark sits in on the lesson today?" I had been thinking the same thing but secretly hoping that he would not be. Ha! So that night we knock on the door and it's opened by someone I don't know. Olivia introduces us to her friends Jacob and Cassy, and of course we know Mark. Olivia was really excited that they were all there so that they could learn what had become so important to her! I'm thinking "holy cow. Now we are supposed to teach Olivia and Mark and Cassy and Jacob (two couples who both live together) the law of chastity. Awesome. I'm not gonna lie, I tried to think of what other commandments we needed to teach Olivia (all of them except the Word of Wisdom) but out of all those commandments... I couldn't think of a single one. The only thought in my head was "we need to teach this lesson tonight." Okay. So then Sister Rutter (a member who comes with us a lot-she is great!) comes into the apartment. She knew what we were teaching and you could just see on her face "uh-oh" it was quite funny. But we launched right into the lesson and it actually went really well. At the end of the lesson Mark piped up and told us he liked what he had heard and wanted to learn more. And Jacob had actually been engaged in the lesson and decided he wanted to learn more too! While I was talking to Mark and Olivia about Mark's past and what has lead him to want to learn more about religion Sister Rutter was having a great conversation with Jacob about the Book of Mormon. It was awesome! Who knew that out of the lesson I have been most terrified to teach and that I thought would be awkward with all the people there we would get two new investigators! It was awesome! We have also been trying to get Olivia to come to church for about 4 weeks but we always get text messages on Saturday night telling us why she can't come (migraine, stomach virus, helping her grandmother who just had surgery...) Well, we planned to bring her breakfast so she could come. Mark had to work so he wouldn't be able to come. Well, Sunday morning we make a delicious breakfast and go to Olivia's. She opens the door, all dressed for church! YAY!! She then tells us Mark is hiding in the bedroom. He ended up not having to work! So he came too! He felt out of place because he wasn't dressed up and he has a tattoo on his arm. However by the end of the block he felt a lot better thanks to the fantastic members that we have! They both loved it! And while we were walking home with them Jacob called Olivia and was asking questions about the church! We are planning to teach them all the restoration on Wednesday but Jacob got a job-which is great! but he works nights so we will have to find a different time to get with him and continue the lessons. But we asked Mark if he was coming next week and he said "Well, ya!" And of course Olivia wants to too! I think with Mark on board a lot of Olivia's concerns and anxieties have been diminished I think she will be able to progress better now too! Man! We also had an incredible miracle with another of our investigators, Shelley. I won't go into details because they're not important but it was a huge miracle in her life. She knows this is a miracle from her Heavenly Father and she is just so incredibly thankful to Him for all that He has done in her life especially as she has been turning it around. She is just great! It's been a good week!

Well, good luck with school and work everyone. And Landon, keep up the awesome work in Canada! I love that we are on the computer at the same time! It was great to say hello to you and hear back in less than a week! haha. PS I'm waiting for that letter you promised. I'll write you back as soon as I get it :-P That goes for everyone else as well! I'm so glad to hear everything is going well at home. I love and miss you all a lot! I love you more than I miss you though. :-) haha. Well, have a great week! Write lots of e-mails and letters! Oh and mom...I did spend money last week. I found a maurices here. I got a really cute outfit :-) It's nice to have something that's not getting worn out and new and cute haha. Hey family,

So I will get right to the point. This week we went over to a less actives house and we had corn meal, cooked cabbage and beef feet. Ha Ha ya beef feet. Also we bought a rat trap this week. Not for a rat but for a lesson which is pretty fun to teach. It really scares people alot when we ask them to set off the trap with their hand after they see it break a pencil in 2. Don't worry we detach the spring. But it teaches faith pretty darn well don't you think?

Anyway,

Rachel stop talking about what you are thinking about going into at college. Ok don't stop but that is really scary to think about. What is radiology? Good luck with school this year and I am expecting A's all across the board. I hope that you really learn alot from seminary. It is such an important class to take and it will really help you aton. Listen and take notes on what the Spirit prompts you to take and then that night think about what you have learned.

Natalie how is college? Pretty exciting huh being on your own huh? I hope that you have been to the Institute more then 3 times so far and I hope that you have seen that it is really cool there. Ya I know Devin ...... good luck. Ok he's not bad. Have you seen Brother Andrus yet? Tell him hi for me. In fact tell Jarom, Cameron, and Jared (if he is there), hi for me if you see them. Have you made any new friends? You better have. But I know that you will have fun there. It is such a blast I hope you don't go home for at least 3 weeks. Trust me it is better to stay for those first 3 weeks so you can make alot of friends right off the bat. You will do great!

Annie that story is sooooooo awesome keep up the hard work. That is definately the Spirit working through someone in the form of a miracle. Thanks for your exmaple to me and for all that you do. Keep up the awesome and hard work.

Megan & Justin, I can't wait to get your letter that you said you would write. I am so grateful for all that you do. Thank you so much for always supporting me. I am really jealous that you guys have gone camping sooo much.

Dad, thanks for the updates. You're right that doesn't suprise me. Gabe always dropped the ball so what's new. Thank you for all the support you have given me. I read a talk by Dieter F. Uchtdorf. I can't remember the name of it but it is about flying and he relates it to the gospel. It like EAgle and wings for something like that. Anyway it is really good. you should read it.

We'll that's it for this week. The work is going good. We have gotten 2 new investigators for the past 2 weeks so we can't complain really. The Lord has blessed us alot. I am so grateful for the power of prayer. It is one of the biggest tools we have. I have seen it work miricales in my life and in the lives of our investigators. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that hears and answers prayers.

Annie’s Letter

ello family and friends! I'm sure you have all been just on edge all week waiting for the outcome of this story of Kyle... well let me tell you all about it! We talked to President Nilsen and he told us to teach Kyle and call him later that week and report on his progress to see if he could be baptized here or when he gets to school. So we did. We taught a lesson on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. It was really neat on Tuesday because he came into the lesson and said "It's gotta be short today, my dad is in the hospital and I need to go to Columbus." WOW! He didn't call and cancel or anything! He is definitely making his lessons a priority! Due to his dad and his work schedule we didn't see Kyle on Wednesday but we did call President Wednesday and left a message. We didn't see Kyle on Thursday and didn't hear from President. Oh, let me tell you a little about how Kyle progressed. He is just amazing. He was connecting the things he was learning to the scriptures he was reading and to the pictures that he saw in the church. He was really doing awesome with reading and his insights were incredible. He could have been teaching the lessons instead of the other way around! So we were very excited for him. We were talking about how he was a golden investigator and decided that wasn't quite right. We determined that Kyle is our *platinum investigator* So we finally got a hold of President on Friday morning and he told us that Kyle wouldn't be getting baptized on Wednesday (which is the day we were shooting for). Now, I'm sure you're all asking why couldn't he be baptized on Wednesday. He was progressing so phenomenally and was just doing great! Well, fear not. The reason he couldn't be baptized on Wednesday is because by Wednesday he would already be a member. That's right! He would be baptized before Wednesday! Like on Sunday! So we met with Kyle on Friday and had a lesson and asked if he wanted to be baptized on Sunday, which of course he did! Saturday we had another lesson and an interview. Friday and Saturday Sister Richardson and I were busily making plans for the baptism. Talks, people to perform the ordinances, prayers, witnesses, programs... all sorts of stuff and it all went great. I love planning things :-) It was actually really funny. On Sunday after church we started filling up the font. One of the brethren from the ward closed the drain (because he didn't think we knew how...) and we started the water and everything was great. We ran home to grab some lunch and were back at the church about 40 minutes later. We walked into the primary room (where the font is) checked the water level and to our horror... IT WAS DRAINING!! So I bravely went into the water (there was about 6 inches) and made sure the plug was all the way in. I then sat by the font for the next few hours while it filled up. I didn't just sit there...I was also folding programs and doing other last minute things :-) Then we were in the chapel ready for the baptism to start. Kyle was there, people were there, I was playing beautiful prelude music and thinking I really should go check the font (which had filled up and turned off) to make sure it hadn't drained anymore. But I didn't because I was busy playing beautiful prelude music :-) Well... we got into the primary room for the baptism and I couldn't see any water in the font. But I was like...it's just because of the mirror and glass all the reflections and the water is still. It's okay. And it was. It had drained about 4 inches so it was a little low. Thankfully Kyle isn't any taller than me so he was still able to be completely immersed in the water. I was so worried all day that something was going to go wrong. But that was all that happened. And that is definitely something that was no big deal. If Kyle would have been like 7 feet tall there may have been an issue. But it all worked out beautifully. Sister Richardson and Sister Rutter (from the ward) sang a beautiful song "Beautiful Savior" accompanied by yours truly and Kyle was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was fantastic. The spirit was so strong and the member support was great. We also have been in contact with the Bishop and missionaries in the Wintersville ward who are waiting for Kyle to drive into Stubenville on Thursday so they can welcome him and help him to continue to progress and develop his testimony. It has been such a privilege to teach Kyle. He has been so prepared by the Lord. :-) After the baptism yesterday we hit the streets. FINDING! We need some new investigators! Unfortunately we didn't find any. But we did get to talk to some way awesome people. Including this lady who is 95. She invited us in and asked us several questions. She's not interested in the church but just had questions and I think she really liked the things that we had to say. She is Roman Catholic but has some things that just don't make sense and I think she really like the things we were able to tell her. It was just awesome to talk to her. She told us some about when she was growing up and it reminded me so much of grandma and when she was growing up (they are about the same age...) so I was thinking a lot about Grandma Webb last night. I sure do miss her. But I know she is watching out for me, she loves me, and she is proud of me. And the same for you Landon and everyone else. :-) The other pictures are just ones that I like. yes I have a green tractor that I play with. :-) Oh! The other exciting thing I wanted to tell you all is....TOMORROW I GET TO GO BACK TO SPRINGFIELD!!! yay for exchanges! I am so excited to see Sister Finefeuiaki and people there. The work in Springfield has been awesome ! 3 of the people that I was teaching there have been baptized. They are doing great work! Not gonna lie, I miss it. But I do love Marysville. It is a great place to work. Well, I'm sure I could write a million more stories and things but I'm really about out of time so sorry! I love you all! Sounds like everything is going great at home! Hey my awesome family!

First off thank you so much for all the wonderful letters and all the wonderful emails that you have sent to me. I really appreciate them so much because it is great to hear how all of you are doing! So thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is so great when we open up the mailbox and there is a letter addressed to you! Sorry I haven't written any letters for a long time. I only have time on P-Day and even then it is hard because we are so busy running around everywhere. But I will write letters today!

I'm glad you had fun in Snow Bird I am really sad I missed out on everything down there. Mom you would go slow. haha. But I am also glad you don't have a broke leg. I miss the mountains all we have are hills. So here in North Bay they have what is called the ski hill. So take the dug way, ad maybe 10-15 more feet in height, not nearly as steep, and you have a ski hill. PATHETIC! Anyways I am glad to hear the things are going great.

Megan how in the world did mice get into your camper? Because I don't know how they could have. I am glad to hear that you and Justin are doing good. I hope that what ever Justin needs for his throat goes good. Did your dogs have surgery on their hips? How big are they? I am so glad you to are enjoying life!

Annie how is your work going? That story is awesome I am sad that I will have to hear it next week:( But that is an amazing story!

Well sorry I don't write long emails but I am a slow writer and processor. I have 5 minutes left on the computer. I would have had all day but Elders in the past ruined it. They use to use the family history library computers because Bishop allowed them to but they started downloading Itunes. Dumb right. Anyways I really appreciate the support you give to me. The work here is going good. We are scheduled to have 5 baptisms in September. James Lindsey, Megan Fretz, Dave Gudraue, Rob Ransom, and Jordan who will be moving here in a little while. Plus we are meeting with other people as well. We are pretty excited.

Hola mi familia

Ya I won't even try the next part because I can't spell it. So how are ya doing? I hope that all of the bees are finally gone. Way to go Mom that is so awesome you found the nest! You will have to send pictures of the nest because I really want to see it! How big was it? Are their still some bees there? Anymore nests? I was talking to a member a month ago and they said that they usually don't have a bee problem because they put up a fake bees nests around the outside of their house. Now if that works I don't know but she said it is because bees are territorial. That's just something that I found out while I have been out here so don't quote me if it works or not. (She had a bee's nest)

Another thing that I found interesting from you Mom is that you said your rasberry plants are getting big (rasberry or strawberry I can't remember) but also that you need to replant them. I was a another members house last night and she had rasberry plants that were huge. They were almost as tall as me in height. They were 2 years old..... CRAZY!!!!!! Stinking humidity.

So you are all probably wondering why you haven't seen any photos from me. We'll I don't have my camera cord so I can only sent the pictures home when the card is almost or completely full. Sorry :( but don't bother finding the cord because these computers are sooooo slow and I only have an hours worth of time. But it is almost full. I have a few videos and lots of pictures. There is only 260 pictures left or 6 minutes of video. The video is so you can see what life is like a bit better here so hopefully you like them.

Rachel & Natalie, go have an adventure before school starts. You should also take Megan because soon there will be just 2 Webb kids in Lyman. Keep me updated on how your life, school, and events in your life is going. I really appreciate all the emails you have sent me.

Annie I won't hear from you this week but I know that you are doing amazing work. You will have to email some of your missionary tools you use and I will tell you some that I use! One is that here tracting is like trying to squeeze water from a rock so we depend heavely on the Member Referrals. So in other words 55% of baptisms in our area come from member referrals. So we involve the ward as much as possible here. Ok your Turn. Keep up the awesome work.

Megan & Justin, first off Happy Birthday Justin hope you have a great day. I will have to send a present.... of some kind. Well anyway have a great birthday. Megan I haven't heard from you in a while which a guess means you haven't had much happen lately or you are just too busy to write or both. I know that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ. He leads and guides our chruch today. It is because of the Atonement that I now we can feel peace, joy, and happiness in our lives. Jesus Christ made it possible for us to have that eternal joy and happiness in our lives. I am so so grateful for family in my life. Hello family! I hope everyone has been having a fabulous week! It sounds like you have! First off...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTIN!!!! I HOPE YOU HAVE A FABULOUS DAY! Your card is in the mail. Am I the greatest sister in law ever or what? I remembered your birthday all by myself :-)

Congrats on finding the bee's nest mom! I'm so proud of you! Dad, I'm glad you're staying busy. Please try to be nice to people from other countries when you talk to them on the phone. Megan and Justin hope all is going well! I'm sure you guys are busy busy! Pet your dogs for me. Natalie sounds like you stay pretty busy too! I'm so excited for you to be going to college soon. You're going to absolutely love it! College is the best! Jon, thanks for all the hard work you do! Man, it seems like my family is just working you to death! I'm jealous you two got to go to PBR. I have wanted to go to that since it opened! That's okay. It'll still be there when I get back. Rachel, I'm so glad you have had a fun summer. Way to go on getting Mom to ride! I bet that was way fun! Mom, I hope you're not too sore. But I'm betting you're sore. Everything here is going really well. We met some awesome people while we were tracting this week and had some great conversations. Good potentials, but not quite ready. But they will be. :-) Olivia is doing well, she is working hard on not smoking. We have this awesome 15 step plan we gave her. If she does it 100% then she will quit smoking in 7 days. Guaranteed. So we will see her on Wednesday and see how she did for the week. I know she has been cutting back so far so that's good. It's all up to her. I can't make her do 100%, even though I would love to! She has such a great testimony. She is so excited about the gospel and is even doing missionary work herself! She is pretty fantastic. The only concern with her is getting her to church. She gets sick on Saturday nights so she has been unable to come. This is so important! Now we are at crunch time. If she doesn't come to church for the next 3 weeks we will have to postpone her baptism. That would be awful! She has already invited her friends and family and she is just so excited! But she's gotta come. So we will just pray that she will be well this weekend so that she can come. Now let me tell you about the miracle this week. This is such an awesome story!

We a mission goal of getting 50 baptisms in August. We have been praying and fasting and working hard to be able to contribute and not rely on the other companionships in the mission. (Bonus, check out mormon night for the Columbus Crew... If we get 50 baptisms we get to go to the Crew game (pro soccer) and all the missionaries get to be on the field at halftime and members and investigators can get discount tickets to the game! I'm stoked!!) Well...On Friday we got a referral from the media center. This kid wanted a Book of Mormon and wanted to know more about the church. That same evening we got a call from Sister Missionaries in Kirtland about him, he was chatting with them. He really wanted us to contact him. We promised we would as soon as possible. We went to his home the next day but no one was home. So we called him and he told us he would call us back. Sunday after church we had a missed call from him! So we called him back...and missed him. But then he called us back! And asked if we could meet with him at the church right then! We said of course! So we quickly called a member, Shelly Lundstrom and she came with us. We love the Lundstrom's. They are very missionary minded and so willing to do anything they can to help us out. So we run over to the church and met Kyle. Kyle is great. He has been involved in the Marysville ward scout troop (when he was younger) and knows several of the families in the ward. He has member friends, has attended church once, and has met with missionaries before and just really been surrounded by members for a lot of his life. We extended a baptismal invitation to him and we barely got to finish the question before he answered "YES" not maybe or a hesitant yes, a resounding total and complete yes. This boy has a testimony that is growing and he has a desire! We are very excited! He wants to be baptized before he goes to college in a week and a half... he will have only attended church twice at that point and we don't like doing confirmations at the baptism. So we called Elder Harris (our DL) and asked what he thought he said "it should be okay, call the assistants" so we called the assistants and Elder Lund said "baptize him and confirm him! But ask President first." So we called President Nilsen this morning...and couldn't get a hold of him! His family has been unavailable all weekend as his daughter got married on Friday...to a former assistant. haha! anyway... that means this story is at a cliffhanger ending right now. I will be able to tell you... "the rest of the story" (thank you Paul Harvey!) next Monday. But pray that everything will work out so he can be baptized! He is our August baptism! he has been so prepared! He is just a stellar kid! We have another lesson with him tonight. We have to get through all the lessons before August 21 (the baptism is scheduled for the 22 and he has to have an interview...) so we will be seeing Kyle a lot this week! This is one of those mission miracle stories. When you have faith, work hard, and never give up Heavenly Father really does bless you. Don't ever forget that.

Also, I did get my box! Thank you sooo much! I LOVED the pictures! Natalie I absolutely love your hair cut! Megan, I like yours but I'm not completely sold on it. Sorry. It is cute though. :-) And thank you so much for all the pictures! I love them! They are in my journal. JOURNAL #2!! ya, I finished my first journal on Saturday. I'm officially on the second one. So I'll probably need a new one around December. I'll keep you posted :-) They just need to match. haha. Anyway, you guys really are the greatest family in the entire world. Hey family,

Just like we thought before we didn't move. There is 10 missionaries in our district and 6 got transfered out. 2 areas white washed, 3 of the 6 died (went home because they finished their time out) and Elder Sparks was made district leader. Crazy!

So I have a problem, cashiers keep checking me out :/. haha sorry I heard that and I just had to tell you. A member read us one of his friends facebook status.

How is everything going. Bees...wow thats crazy I am actually not suprised with a nest underneath the porch but in the new addition. That's what shocked me. ya you might want to get that taken care of real quick like.

Rachel, Congradulations on your Personal Progress! That is so exciting for you and I am so proud of you. That is a huge accomplishment. Just think you won't have to worry about it anymore. That is so cool! More riding? wow I am really suprised. Ok maybe not. Keep up the great work

Natalie, are you alive because I haven't heard from you in a long time. Please write me a letter or an email. It would be nice to hear how you are doing.

Annie, I am glad to hear that things are going better for you. But you better keep drinking water. Your work sounds amazing I am so proud of you that you keep trucking away and never give up on the work. Ya I know exactly what you mean when you say it is discouraging. In fact this past week we went to visit a member who has 3 referrals for us. So we stopped by and a guy that was visiting her started yelling at us telling us to leave. Pretty much we haven't seen her since and she is avoiding us. But she has always been crazy like this so oh well. You are such a great example Annie keep up the great work and if your knuckles start hurting from all the knocking. Buy golf balls! Especially when it is cold!

Megan & Justin, Justin how was putting in the sprinkler system? That is awesome! I know everyone really appreciates your help. Megan I hope things at work are going great. Thanks for all you do! Dad, thanks for all the emails. I have to agree there is a completely different power when you read a letter then an email. I am so grateful for the example you are in my life. You were right about the sunshine room, it definately brings the sun and all the bugs that come with it. Good luck on getting rid of the bees.

So this week like I said before 3 referrals were kept from us. Sad yes and we tried to get them but she is just always avoiding us. Anyway we went tracting and found 2 new people who are interested in learning about the church. This should be really fun! I am so excited because out of all the houses that we have been to for these 6 weeks we got 2 appointments from both. Even Elder Sparks who has been here for 4 1/2 months hasn't had anything like this before and he has tracted alot here. Almost every street we go down.

Our 2 investigators were suppose to baptized this coming sunday but their parents moved them back into September. So we have to wait more.

Sorry I am almost out of time but some cool things about life here.

1. Milk comes in a bag. Ya a bag it is so weird and I really don't like it. But it keeps the milk from going bad. they are 3 packs in a bag which is 4 bucks.

2. Spiders are huge here. We say a spider the other day that was the size of a tuny. The size of a 50 cent piece. Elder Sparks has seen a bigger spider.

3. James Cameron, the director of Avatar & Titanic lived here once. How cool is that!

I LOVE YOU!!!!

Thanks. So how are ya'll doing? Rachel it sounds like you have been having SOOOO much fun this summer! I am jealous of all your horse riding adventures. I miss riding! Tell Stan, Emily, and the boys hello and I love them and I miss them! Mom and Dad I'm so glad you are moving forward with the second house! That's so great! You said you were going to take the hot tub out and replace the carpet... does the hot tub go back in after that??? If it does that's awesome! If it doesn't... you could always put it in our house... :-) Landon, sounds like you're kicking butt and taking names. Keep up the good work. Natalie, you move so soon! Are you super excited? Nervous? This is such an exciting time in your life! Megan and Justin I'm sure you two are super busy and doing all sorts of fun things. Cuz that's just what you do. Mom I'm so glad you got to talk to Sister Skaggs! She is awesome! She called me this morning and told me she knew where I got my awesome from. :-) We will be going over to her house today to make yummy jam! and the black raspberry jam... it is really good. I ate some this morning. Update on medical... I came up with a brilliant idea that maybe it had to do with the heat because let me tell you it is HOT!! Everyday is just boiling and it wouldn't be so bad but we are in the heat all the time! I drink a ton of water but I'm pretty sure I let out more than I take in. haha. anyway so now I am eating a banana every day and drinking orange juice every day and still taking vitamin D and we'll see if it helps :-)

Update on investigators!

OLIVIA!! She is just great. We saw her for the first time on Monday. She had met with previous sisters earlier this year but life got crazy and she hadn't been seen since May. Well, she has an incredible testimony. She knows the Book of Mormon is true, she knows the Church is true. She is just absorbing everything like a sponge. She is just incredible. She is on date to be baptized on September 8! We are very excited! Marysville hasn't had a baptism since January! We are still teaching the Gibson girls Grace and Victoria (and their older sisters Gwendolyn and Gabrielle) and they are just so sweet. We love these girls so much! Hopefully they will be able to come to Church and keep progressing. We also found a new investigator... Sunday night at 8:30. After tracting all week and not finding any new investigators and being discouraged we were planning to go see a member last night. But then we were like... HECK NO! We can't give up in the last hour of the week! We're going finding! So we did and we met Pam and had a great lesson about scriptures and prophets. It was sooo wonderful! We will go back and see her on Sunday. Never never never give up! We have to go 100%! All the time, until the very last minute! The miracle comes AFTER the trial of faith. We have to "press forward" (thanks Lehi!)

I have some thoughts I want to share with you. You know how much I love quotes...well, these two are awesome. They are so awesome in fact that we recite them every morning. I don't know if I have told you them before or not... but I really love them so if you haven't heard them before get ready for pure awesomeness!! Hello wonderful family! I love you all! So much! I just thought I would let you know that :-)\

It sounds like you are all having a great summer! Rachel, I hope you got to go on your all day ride. And that's cool that Stan and Emily think they have the shop sold. I'll be kinda sad to go back to no Best Buds. I love that little shop. But I'm glad that everything is working out so well for them! Natalie, sounds like you're having lots of fun stocking up for college :-) You will have so much fun! College is super awesome! Make sure you go to institute and make sure you get involved and make friends and have so much fun! Also study. That's just a little important. Just a little. Megan and Jusin, your dogs are so cute! I can't wait to meet them! It sounds like you guys have been having a blast with my nephews and your new trailer this summer! Landon, I'm glad you had a good week! I am teaching two little kids too! And will hopefully start teaching two more really soon! They are the greatest! Dad, I hope you had fun in Vegas! Haha. So a little about my week in Marysville. It's been a lot of hard work. We walk walk walk. Like the pioneer children. Sometimes we even sing. Actually one day when we went tracting we took the ukulele and just played for random people we tracted into. That was really neat :-) We were actually able to to find 3 new investigators this week! 2 are the 2 little girls I mentioned before. They were too young to be baptized when the rest of the family was but they want to learn now. They are super cute and it's great for the whole family becasue they have been less active, but still involved! one of the daughters just got back from YW camp and one of the sons went to Youth Conference in Palmyra! We had 2 great lessons with them this week. It was great. The other two little girls we are hoping to start teaching are actually their cousins who are also less active. The moms are twins! It has been really fun to get to know these two families. We have been trying to get to know as many members as we can to get them to know us, like us, trust us and have a desire to work with us and the Lord in building the Kingdom in Marysville. We have also been trying to go to know all the less active/part member families that we can. We also tract. A lot. I can't tell you how many miles we have walked since I got here! I really can't, I don't have a pedometer but I've been thinking about getting one so that I can see. It's a lot. Tracting is actually how we found our third investigator. She said her son had been wanting to go to church but didn't know which one to go to so we set a time to come back and teach the whole family! Well, the morning of the return appointment came and we got a call... "my son found a church so we don't need you anymore." Sad! Oh well, they have a Book of Mormon and they have a desire so someday... it'll happen! We went to visit a less active part member family last night and the member actually talked to us! His wife is soooo not interested but we did get to talk to him, which according to one member, is basically a miracle. So that was great! His daughter loved us. She cried when we left. :-( But he also gave us 2 spaghetti squash and some tomotoes! Yummy! It was a good contact! :-)

Dad, I just got your email. Nice timing! :-) I really do love the people in Marysville. They are good people. I'm super excited about the hot air balloon festival! That sounds like so much fun! I will definitely keep an eye out for the pig! :-D Tell Uncle Ed Happy Birthday for me and definitely write down the stories about Uncle Bob and his dogs haha. And tell Uncle Ed that I haven't forgot that he still owes me dinner from when I moved back from Florida. :-P Well, it sounds like everything is going well there. Hey Fam!!

How are things going in good old Lyman Wyoming? I hope that the dry spell is over because I still can't believe that there were no fireworks. Anyways how is everyone doing?

Rachel are you ever at home anymore? That is cool that you are doing so many fun things this summer! I still can't believe that you aren't horsed out yet. Still that is pretty cool! Well you big bad Junior are you ready for school this year? Tell me about your classes and how things are going!

Natalie your time is almost here to go to college! If I remember right you will be moving in the 19th I think? Anyways you will have to let me know how it is. Remember when you get over there the first thing you need to do is go over to the Institute when there is an activity and find the teacher. He is way awesome! Then of course find friends that are in institute and talk to everyone. You will have a blast. Don't just hang around people from Lyman it gets boring after a while to hang around old friends. Go find new friends!

Annie sound like you are as always doing awesome missionary work. I know how it is to be in a small ward that is mostly less active. Keep working hard to be the best missionary you can be! I will have to write you a letter soon. Did you get my last one? I sent it about 3 weeks ago. I am very interested if you got it or not! Keep me posted on how you are doing :-)

Megan & Justin wow you just keep running. That is awesome! I bet you will have fun in the mountains. Holy cow your dogs have gotten pretty darn big. They are almost to big to be called puppies now. Crazy! Are they still biting like Orion was when I left? How is work going? I hope all is going well for you two!

Mom you should wait to send the picture later I might be transfered I might not next week so I will let you now next week. So next Monday you can send them off whenever and to where ever I tell you. Dad i'm glad you are back home in the little town of Lyman. Also I am glad to hear that it was a good conference. I hope everything is going good for you in your life right now! Are you ready for school yet? You better not bow to that buffalo :-D Are you still going to take pictures of the sports this year in Lyman? I don't think you would travel with the teams anymore. So are you going to just take pictures at home games?

Sorry like I said before there is not much to write this week. We have 2 investigators who have baptism dates for August 12th and 1 who is not able to come to church and another who is new. We are excited for the 2 with dates but they need to come to church. One is doing fine with church but if the other misses then they will not be able to be baptized on the 12th. We are continueing to work and to find new people. Elder Sparks has tracted pretty much almost the whole town here and he has not found 1 investigator who has progressed yet. We will still try but we turn to the ward for referrals. We got 5 this week. 3 from a sister but she ended up bombing 2 appointments for us to meet with her. So we will continue to try. We have to rely heavily on the ward because there just aren't too many interested people that we haven't found yet. We are doing all we can.

Hey Fam!

This week was sweet!

Rachel you sound like you are having a great time this summer with the rodeos, hanging out with friends, and mowing lawns ;) Don't worry me and Elder Sparks have to mow the lawn every week because the Hatts are gone and they asked us to. On the plus side we get to enjoy the garden! I can't believe that family. Holy cow!

Natalie I can't believe all you do is work, work, work. That's crazy. Do something else that is fun for a change. Oh and Jon I am really jelous that you are playing softball. There is no softball here and it is driving me crazy this time of year.

Annie You Are Doing Amazing. I can't believe how much of a stud you are. If you continue to keep this up you will have all of Springfield being taught in no time. You are such a great example to me!

Megan & Justin, I hope things are going great with you guys and your dogs. How big are they now? They have to be much bigger then from when I last saw them. (Well Orion anyways).

Mom you have been really busy wow I hope you do send pictures soon. I am excited to see how they turn out. I am also excited to see how the new house looks. That is a really smart investment.

Dad I almost know how you feel but I don't know how it actually is. It must be absolutely hecktic down in Las Vegas. But keep an eye out for the missionaries. I made a few friends with some of them who went to L.V. while in the MTC our districts were close.

So not much happened this week sorry. We taught our 3 investigators and thats about it. 2 are 9 year olds so it's interesting teaching them. They are absolutley crazy. But they are pretty sweet. Also we went on splits this week. I went with Elder Ruttan. He has 2 weeks left on the miss. Crazy but he is an awesome guy. I learned alot from him during that day and hopefully me and Elder Sparks will continue to work harder and be more productive. I am still learning how to become a better missionary and am learning more about being a missionary and the work that takes place.

We'll there is not much more for this week but I will continue to write letters. Sorry I didn't do that last week. It was crazy on P-Day. I will write back this week. But I did get 4 letters this week! From Mom, Dad, Rachel, and Peter so I am pretty happy. Thank you. Well I am running out of time so I will try to write more next week. The power went out during my hour so I lost about 10 minutes of time. Ya the time kept going dumb huh. We'll tell Hi to everyone for me. I miss the valley but it's also pretty out here to.

Annie’s Letter

Hello family… from the city of MARYSVILLE! That's right, I got transferred. Before I forget, Landon please tell President and Sister Scott hello from President and Sister Nilsen in Columbus, OH. They are good friends :-)

Okay, so Tuesday (when they normally tell us about transfers) we got a voice mail from the APs saying "we'll tell you about transferrs TOMORROW night. It's going to be a tiny transfer, don't worry about it." So I was irritated. Well, Wednesday we get a call from President saying that Sister Finefeuiaki will be training. So now I'm certain that I will be transferred ( I had a feeling I would be) so I'm even more irritate with the APs. That night at 10:10 PM we get the call from our District Leader "Sister Webb will be transferred" no big shock, but still I hadn't started packing because I didn't want to start packing and then not get transferred and have to unpack. So now I'm quite irritated with the APs. But I got everything packed quickly (but not very prettily) and went to bed. The next day we show up at transfers and it is the BIGGEST transfer that President and Sister Nilsen have ever had in the YEAR they have been on their mission. Silly, lying APs. What are we going to do with them? I just don't know.

anyway, I am in Marysville now. It is closer to Columbus and in the Columbus North Stake. My address is 270 Stocksdale Dr Apt 6B Marysville, OH 43040 ( don't post that it's just for you, my wonderful family) Marysville is really different. THe ward is a lot smaller (only about 140 families) and they aren't as involved as Springfield. We are definitely going to change that! There hasn't been a member present lesson in the last 6 weeks. We'll change that STAT! We do have a couple of investigators here but none are really progressing. I will tell you one story though... Thursday after we got home from transfers we were tracting. We tracted into Kenny. He told us to come back in an hour. We did. We went in to teach and he had a friend over who was definitely more interested in playing their game of Magic. And it was Sister Richardson and my first lesson together...so it was kind of awkward all the way around. But he is willing for us to come back and hopefully then we will see if he is really interested in learning about the gospel or not. So we do A LOT of tracing. I wonder how many miles we have walked so far in just 3 days. We walked about 3.5 one day and definitely another couple yesterday... it's been great though. We have a goal to meet 50% or the ward at their homes and have a for real conversation (preferably a lesson) with them by the end of the transfer. That's 70 people/lessons! I have no doubt we can do it because in the last 3 days we have met with 10. It will get harder the more we begin to meet though because we'll start doubling up and have to try harder to get to the others. we can do it though. Sister Richardson is from Stafford Arizona. She goes to EAC and knows... BROTHER PALMER!! She loves him and his family! It's a small world after all! I love Sister Richardson! We get along great and have a lot of crazy fun! She is really shy (except when it's just us) and so it is really good for both of us. I am learning to shut my mouth and let her talk and she is definitely coming out of her comfort zone while we're tracting! We work together great! :-) I also found another family here who used to live in Green River, only for a year and they left Wyoming. Their last name was Maze but I doubt anyone knows them there because they haven't been there for years and years like the Lowell's.

Oh, Marysville (you may have recognized the name) is where I went on my very first transfer. This also means... I GET TO DO TRANSFERS IN SPRINGFIELD!!!!!! WITH SISTER FINEFEUIAKI!!! I'm super stoked!

Medically speaking... I'm okay, still same old same old. The only test that didn't come back perfect was my vitamin D. I am slightly deficient. I asked Dr. Kellar if that could be causing pain and she said probably not but I am now taking a supplement anyway. I'll call her in a week and let her know how I'm doing. If no change or worse she has thought of more blood tests she could order. But if I haven't changed I"ll probably end up going to another Doctor in Marysville. Dayton is 1.5 hours away from here so I can't go to Dr. Kellar anymore. C'est la vie. I was reading in the Book of Mormon today, 1 Nephi 17: 1-2. I decided if these women could walk for 8 years and have kids in the wilderness... I can take a little (or a lotta) pain! At least I'm not in labor in the desert 600 years BC! See... it can always be worse. Haha.

It sounds like everyone has been having a great summer. Sorry the rodeo was a bust. But there should be some in Lyman this week right!? So go to those! They'll be awesome I"m sure! Dad, sorry you're not having any fun in Vegas. I don't think I'll ever visit there in the summer. It's definitely a winter vacation spot. Oh, there is a conference talk I would like you all to read... It is "Was it Worth it?" by David F. Evans in the April General Conference edition.
